Hi Marie, I don't know if this will help you or not, but I did find a Shumpert Caldwell in 1920. He was a married, black male who was born in South Carolina. Here is what I found for this family: Caldwell, Shumpert, Head, Rents, Male, B, 29, married, Y,Y,SC,SC,SC, laborer, government type Caldwell, Bessie, Wife, Female, B, 27, Married, SC,SC,SC, no occupation Caldwell, Will E., Son, Male, B, 6, Single, SC,SC,SC, no occupation Caldwell, Ellaweze, daughter, Female, B, 1, Single, PA, SC,SC, no occupation Caldwell, Shumpert Jr., Son, M, B, 4 7/12, Single, SC, SC, SC, no occupation Caldwell, Torance, Nephew, M, B, 18, Single, SC,SC,SC, laborer, factory This family lived at 1200 Albert Street in Philadelphia I also located a James W. Caldwell in 1920. Here is what I found on this family: Caldwell, James W., Head, Owned, Male, Mortgaged,M, B, 46, Married, Y,Y, North Carolina, NC, NC, Printer, Jobing Caldwell, Mary C, Wife, Female, B, 41, Married, Y, Y, PA, MD, PA This family lived at North 57th Street, Philadelphia 1920 Census, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, 34-WD Philadelphia, Series T625, Roll 1630 Part 2, page 88A I know the dates don't line up, but with a name like Shumpert, this has to be right.
