Just checked Ancestry.com, and besides William, there is a Joseph Caldwell on the same page of the 1850 census. He is also on the 1820 and 1830, so he may be Williams father. In 1850 on another page is an Archibald Caldwell. There were only the 3 in Owen Co in 1850 and only Joseph in that county in 1820 and 1830. I also saw that another descendant of Mary Jane has her being born in Daviess Co., MO. He is on the census there for 1860, so they must have moved there.
Anyway check out Joseph's info to see when and where he was born. I assume you have already done that for William and Catherine.
