Hi Enda,
Interesting to here your from the Royal County.I have been researching" The Caldwells of Castletown co Meath
for some time.
In the register of Irish Landowners 1876;
Andrew G Caldwell 88 Upper Dorset Street Dublin 484 acres.
Charles B Caldwell England 1661 acres
William B Caldwell England 122 acres
All three I believe to be descendants of Admiral Sir Benjamin Caldwell RN who was a grandson of Andrew Caldwell Barrister of Dublin who was mentioned in the will of Sir James Caldwell of Castle Caldwell Co Fermanagh.
When I was down with Noel Meade I noticed a William Caldwell in the car business in that vicinity.
I also came accross a Caldwell family in WestMeath descended from a Samuel Caldwell of Killucan born 1670.
Hope this is of some interest
Plunkett Caldwell
