John W. Caldwell in SC and GA

My great-great grandfather was John W. Caldwell of Polk County, GA. He was born in SC August 22, 1832, and married Sarah L., who was also born in SC in 1836 or so. He had a brother, William P., two years younger, and a brother, Alfred C., born in May 1825 in S. C. An older female relative named Anna W. Caldwell lived with John W. and his family in Polk County in 1860. She was 62, and she was probably his mother or an aunt. I cannot find a definite connection to the Caldwells of South Carolina. Can anyone help with establishing this link?
