I know of no Caldwell-Berryhill marriage in my line, but there could be a connection. William Caldwell, 1741-1801, witnessed a deed in 1768 in Mecklenburg Co, NC. I've no idea where he came from, who his parents were, or who his siblings might have been. He married Agnes Givens, whose father Edward Givens originated in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and was one of the earliest settlers in the Davidson's Creek settlement, which is at the border of Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties. The name Berryhill appears somewhat further south in Mecklenburg.
