Hi,
You are correct that James Calder married Nancy Lindsay, however, Nancy Lindsay in not the Nancy listed on the Census with Charles Calder in 1880. The Nancy listed in Charles Calder's household is his mother, Nancy Budd who was married to Horatio Nelson Calder. Nancy Budd was first married to Michael Reine/Wren and later married Horatio. Horatio and Nancy left the Red River Settlement with the Sinclair party in 1841 and eventually made it to Pierce County, Washington. Horatio and Nancy were my great great grandparents.
I can't help with Nancy Lindsay's death date or location, but hopefully if you back up to where she was last known to be, (Red River Settlement) you may pick up the right path. Again, the Nancy you followed to Pierce County, Washington is not Nancy Lindsay.
Dave Hutton
