I'm trying to trace other descendants of William Calder, who lived in Dornoch 1800-1855 and is buried with his wife Ann Sutherland (b 1804b d 1874) in Dornoch cathedral graveyard.

They appear to have had 7 children:
George b 1834
Elizabeth b 1835
Margaret b 1837
Donald b 1839
Elspet b 1843
Catherine b 1846
Chirstie/Chirsty or Christina b 1849

I'm descended from Elspet who was my mother's grandmother and have managed to track down most of her descendents. According to my mother there were numerous relatives of her grandmother who came and went through her childhood - many of them Calders, but also a William Bain, and a Jessie Ross who was running a farm in Coronation Alberta Canada in the 1940s. Also apparently there was still some Calders we were related to living in or around Dornoch in the late 1950s - presumably also descendants of William Calder. I visited Dornoch recently and found William and Ann's grave but no sign of any living relatives.
From records I've found it seems that Elizabeth may have married a William McIntosh or Mackintosh in 1858 and had 7 children in Golspie and Dornoch
Margaret may have married a Nicholas Mackay in 1875 - couldn't find any record or any children
Chirsty may have married a John Bain in leith around 1880 having 4 children
Donald may have married Ellen Sutherland in 1872 - found record of one child
