I had a look for any David Calders born between 1810 and 1850 and the only one who came up is the one I have in my tree he was born 10 April 1833 and in 1865 he married Elizabeth McKay. the only fly in the ointment on the 1871 census he is a gamekeeper.And the 1861 census he is a ploughman, nothing to do with railways.There is another born 1839 in Inverness but he is a blacksmith.Sorry not to be more help.
