I am looking for people that descend from this family line. James Calder came from the Orkney Islands to Canada, as an employee of the Hudson's Bay Company. He "married' a native woman, who was given the name "Nancy Lindsay", and they had 7 children (they were never actually married in the western sense of the word).
James Calder left Canada in September 0f 1822, leaving Nancy and his children behind. He never returned to Canada.
Nancy was lask known to be living in Pierce Co., Washington, whith her grandson Charles Calder and his family. They lived on an Indian reservation.
I descend from James & Nancy's daughter, Nancy Calder, who married Samuel Foulds.
I would especially like to hear from anyone that can tell me Nancy Lindsay Calder's date and place of death.
