Seeking 4 children given up for adoption San Diego 1950-60s- Their Paternal Grandmother was Grace Calder, Born 1903 -- son of Anna and George Calder. Their Paternal Grandfather was Alan R. Thompson (Called Tommy). They had a son Frank Alan Thompson ( also called Skip) who married Virginia (Last name unknown.) They had four children.============ The four children were born from 1948 through 1952. The mother Virginia "Ginny" Thompson was killed in a tragic auto accident, (as the story goes, facts not available.) Frank Alan Thompson born about 1928 He was in the NAVY and later worked as a civilian for the NAVY Psychiatric Hospital. Frank's father was Alan R. Thompson (known as TOMMY), and his mother was GRACE ANNE (Calder) THOMPSON. (who's brother was George Calder) (Her nephew was George Calder Jr.) (Her sister is Margaret Church.) They lived in Aberdeen South Dakota according to the 1930 US Federal Census. Grace and Tommy moved with little SKIP to California. Tommy later left, and they were divorced. Grace, Frank and Virginia lived in San Diego, California. Virginia Thompson and Frank named their four children, Bert (Robert?), Anne (Annie?), Paul and Richard (Rick?). These children were loved!! I have photo albums of the whole family and the ancesters, and I want very much to return them to these four children. Grandma Grace was helping Frank (also called SKIP) care for his children after Virginia died. When Grace could no longer help, around 1966 or earlier, Frank gave his four children to ELMER and MARGE (?). There are photos of them coming to visit. It says "Nurse's" on the back of one photo. I don't know if that is a name, occupation, or a place. They may have been planning keep them or get them adopted. They may have been relatives of Virginia's? I can't find her or their last names. They sent photos up through 1966 or so. The children were together at that time. If you are one of these four children or related to this family, please contact me at CandyEve at adelphia.net. I have your family photo albums and want to get them to you. I have photos of you as children. These photo albums showed up in the Salvation Army Thrift Shop in Newbury Park, CA. I do not know who had possession of them. I do not know if someone lost them or passed on. I have tried for over a year to find the FOUR of you. You may not know about this, and may have been separated and adopted. You were between 3 years and 12 at the time of the separation from your father. I do not know if he stayed in touch. I do not know what happened to him. I am looking for information on him as well. If anyone has any info on this THOMPSON (CALDER) family, I have some relatives that I have found that were estranged. They want to know the kids! Please contact me!!! Thanks! Candy Eve Newbury Park Notify Administrator about this message?
