I ran across this newspaper article in "The Repertory" 17 May 1805 and thought it would be of interest to Calder researchers.
TAKE NOTICE
The representatives and Legatees of ALEXANDER CALDER, of Aswanlie, are requested to furnish the following particulars of evidence for the due prosecution of their claims.
Issue of William Calder
1st Evidence of the death of Elizabeth, wife of William the elder.
2nd Evidence of the death of George Skene Calder, eldest son of William - This must be ascertained before the Referees can act under the general power from William the second son.
3d Evidence of the death of Elizabeth and a power from Mary, issue of William the elder.
Issue of Robert Calder
4th John Calder, Anna wife of James French, and Rebecca Calder issue of William, second son of Robert signed by proxy; the proxy's authority or new powers must be forwarded.
5th Evidence of the period of the death of Sarah Calder, daughter of Robert and wife of Samuel Bell of Danvers, and of Rebecca Calder - or at least that they died subsequent to February 1768.
6th Rebecca, wife of Archibald Anderson, and Thomas Fessenden, issue of Elizabeth, daughter of Robert and wife of Benjamin Fessenden, have signed by proxy; the proxy's authority or new powers must be made out to Robert Cranstown, Esquire, Edinburgh.
