This is an old post so not sure if this will help anyone or not. Patricia, if you are still out there, many thanks for sharing the info that you found.

In doing research on my Calder's of Nairn, I believe the John Calder Sr. mentioned in this bible was descended from John Calder and Margaret Bain of Nairn. One of their descendents, Eugene Barrows Calder ended up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

John Calder and Anne Ross' son Alexander ended up in New York State. Alexander's grandson, Eugene, is the one who ended up in Ann Arbor and perhaps that is how the Bible found its way to the antique mall.

As much of my info has been gleaned from the internet and census returns, I can not be certain.

I have a great interest in this family as I think that my Calder's of Nairn are connected.

I would love to hear from anyone researching the Calder's of Nairn.

James Calder (1785-1869) was my 4th great. His father was William Calder and his grandfather was James Calder.

Kind regards,

Sherry Williamson
