Brian(s)
I've just stumbled on your notes in this site.
The Archibald Graham Calder and Betsy McLachlan Brand you mention are in my family tree.
Archibald was from Grangemouth (Falkirk District) while Betsy was actually born in Glasgow.
They married 23/6/1882 and lived on Glasgow's South Side until their deaths - Betsy in 1929 and Archibald in 1942.
I can confirm they had a son, John Brand Calder, b.11/4/1892
He was one of 12 children and brother to my Grandmother.
I have little information on John but have traced Archibald and Betsy's ancestors back to the mid 1700's.
I'd be interested in comparing notes.
