John B ... Just came across your message 559 yesterday. The names ARE CORRECT , and more explicit ( in some cases ) than what I have in my database. May I ask the source of your information ? I have been exchanging info with Ken Fowke for about 8 years now, and along with another cousin, have put together some pretty good history on this CALDER Family. The first Generation, ROBERT (#1)migrated from Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland, 1767, to New Hampshire in the employ of the Governor JOHN WENTWORTH. The Second Generation, FRANCES WENTWORTH CALDER , with her husband ( and first cousin ) ROBERT (#3) CALDER, migrated to Ontario, winding up in Peel County, in 1820. Their son, CHARLES WENTWORTH CALDER ( my 2G-Grandfather )was prominent in Peel County History, and with his wife and several Family Members, is buried in CHURCHVILLE Cemetery. LEWIS B. CALDER, is Charles' son ( Generation 4 ). Along with three brothers, they migrated to the Dakotas in the 1870's. Lewis returned to Canada. LEONARD,L.B's son and Generation 5 ( known as Leonard G. Calder ) was a C.P.R. engineer, and drove the first trainload of colonists into SASKATOON. In 1907 he became Sheriff of Saskatoon, and served 22 years. Quite a Family !!!! Do you have any info on the Family Origins in Morayshire, parents of #1, siblings, etc ? What we have is very thin. Regards, Paul A. Robins, U.E. Incidentally, the Wentworth name continued in the Family. My sister is Frances Wentworth Robins !!!!! Notify Administrator about this message?
