Alexander Calder was married to Margaret Reid, they had 4 children: George (b.1788 Forfar); Margaret (b.1790 Forfar); William (b. 1794 Aberlemno); Alexander (b. 1797 Aberlemno)
George Calder married Elizabeth Williamson in 1819 and they had 10 children: Anne (b.1821); George (b.1824); Helen (b.1826); Alexander (b.1828); James (b.1830); William (b.1832); David (b.1835); Elizabeth (b.1836); John (b.1838); Mary (b.1842)
The first 4 children were born in Aberlemno and the rest in Brechin.
At least one of the sons (David) emigrated to Durban, South Africa in 1877 and it is possible some of the others may have emigrated as well (Australia? Canada?)
We would love to hear from anyone descended from any of the above
