Hello Patti: I noticed that the Calders you are researching were originally from Nairnshire. This reminded me of the following 2 headstone inscriptions that I recorded last year: Cedar Creek Cemetery - Waterloo Regional Road #97. Headstone #1 This Stone / is Erected by / James Calder / In remembrance of / his Son / William / who died July 29, / 1834 / Aged 19 Years / A native of Nairn / Scotland Headstone #2 In Memory of / James Calder / Who Died / July 11th, 1869?, / Aged 8?2 Yrs, 6 Mo. / A Native of Scotland / Erected by His Daughter / Anna Transcribed on September 16, 2000 by John Bruce Calder. From what I can tell, James Calder was married to Janet MacKintosh. Their last child was born in Nairn, Scotland on July 10, 1828. They must have arrived in Ontario before Williams death in 1834. Do you think this family might be related to your John Calder? Regards John B. Calder Waterloo, Ontario
