William Calder & Jane Valentine left their two-year-old son, Alexander, in Scotland about 1850 and went to Canada or America. Nothing heard from them since. William was b.1828 in Monquitter, Scot., son of John Calder and Jean McKenzie. Jane was b.1830 in Northmuir, Scot., daughter of John Valentine and Jane Henderson. I have all the descendants of Alexander and am looking for more information about his Calder ancestors.
