My grandfather was William Ford Calder born in Dundee in 1912 (died in South Africa in 1999). His father was John Burnett Calder also born in Dundee around 1885. John Burnett and his wife emigrated to Rhodesia in 1912 when my grandfather was a baby (they later had to further sons). My great, great grandparents were Willaim and Margaret (nee Burnett). They had five children; Margaret, Martha, James, John and Williamena. William Calder was a Jute factory overseer in Dundee and died whilst on business in India. James Calder emigrated to Australia, Martha went to Canada, John went to Rhodesia and the other two girls stayed in Dundee.
