Hi Brian:

We have nothing at all on the Cairncross other than they are recorded in the 1901 Census Returns for Ireland as being the grandchildren of William O'Leary. It appears that a daughter of William O'Leary married a Cairncross but we do not know the names of the parents of the Cairncross children - there are three mentioned: William (aged 12), Mary (aged 10) and Bridget (aged 6). They resided in Clontarf, Dublin.

According to Ellis Island records William Cairncross went to his Uncle, Edward O'Leary.
