Hi Steve,
nothing to do with Australia I'm afraid, but can you trace your ancestry yet?
I'm a descendant of George Caines the baker of Staple Hill born 1838 in Mangotsfield.
His daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Caines, born 1869, is my great grandmother. I have these Caines as descended from Joshua Cains, who married Elizabeth Freak in 1725 in Bitton.
Can you give me any of your details,
