Dear Sally,

Just found your posting and as I have recently been following through my husbands maternal lines, I have found John Caine and Catherine Caine shown on the 1881 census at 6 John Street, Congleton, Cheshire, England.

I had only noted this family, as I was looking for Ellen Caine, who married William Starkey in 1886 and I am almost certain this is the right family for me. Maybe it is the couple you are searching for.

Here are the details.
John Caine - Head - Ag. Labourer. Married - Aged 40 - Birthplace - Mayo County, Ireland.

Catherine Caine - Wife - Silk Piercer - Married - Aged 41 - birthplace - Mayo County, Ireland.

Ellen Caine - Daughter - Silk Piercer - Unmarried - Aged 14 - birthplace - Congleton, Cheshire. UK

Catherine Caine - Daughter - Scholar - Unmarried - Aged 10 - birthplace - Congleton, cheshire, UK

Elizabeth Caine - Daughter - Scholar - Umnarried - Aged 3 - birthplace - Conglton, Cheshire, UK.
