Dennis Cain abt 1815 - aft Nov 1915

I just found an item in the Athens, GA Banner-Herald of Nov 9, 1915 that describes a 100 year-old Dennis Cain who had just spent the last four weeks walking from New Orleans. His intention was to continue on the Baltimore, MD to visit a relative, Michael Cain. He said that he'd come from County Cork when he was 22 and that he'd been a soldier in the war between the states.

I've tried to find more of his story, but to date, no luck. Does anyone recognize his name or the circumstances?
