Stephen and his wife Phebe lived in Orleans, Barnstable, Mass until at least 1811.They were in Sandwich by 1816 and still in Sandwich when the 1840 census was taken.You probably have noted that Stephen Sr. and Stephen Jr. are both in Orleans when the 1800 census is taken.Stephen Cahoon, Jr. went out on a Gloucester whaling ship in 1795, at the age of 23, prior to his marriage - he appears to have owned an interest in a trading vessel after marriage.
I have notes that Stephen Cahoon, Sr.'s family consisted of 10 children also, four sons and six daughters.The Sturgis Library in Barnstable, Mass has a Cahoon Family file.
I just checked the Sturgis Library website - they have uploaded some of their files!Your Samuel and family is there try this:
