Edgar, I am a Cahoon/Cohoon researcher. I have the following information on Benj. Cahoon b. 5 Nov 1855 Tyrrell County, NC. Married Caroline Phelps b. 2 May 1860.
Son of Sylvanus b. 25 oct 1817 d. 6 Dec 1899. Sylvanus married Olif or Olly (maiden name unknown) about 1840. He married again June 1860 to Affa M. Sawyer. There maybe a 3rd marriage to Polly Stowe 28 Apr 1866. Sylvnanus had a family with each wife.
Sylvanus is the son of Isaiah Cahoon b. abt 1791 d. 1833. He married Sarah Banks.
Don't have any information beyond Isaiah. But hoping to connect him to my Abel Cahoon.
