I don't have any Cahoon's or Cohoon's in my ancestry, but I do have Strickland's and I saw the name Cohoon in some information from another Strickland researcher. Here it is:
On May 14, 1748, John Cohoon sold Jacob Strickland of Edgecomb County, for L.2.10.0 current Virginia Money 150 A. on Saddle Camp Branch (from Cohoon's patent on April 20, 1745), witnesses Samuel Holleman and John Faulk. Halifax County Deed Book III, p. 200.
For whatever it's worth. I don't have any other information, though.
