Hi,

I saw your posting on the Cahoon family of Idaho. I am indirectly related to the Cahoon's of Salt Lake. They were LDS (Mormons) but did not work for the church. The Cahoon's owned a brick factory in south Salt Lake. Lots of ancestors there, but I cannot see a connection without seeing your line.

The oldest Cahoon I have is Reynolds Cahoon, born 30 April 1790 in Wash., New York, and md. to Thirsda Stiles. They had a son, Andrew Cahoon, b. 4 Aug 1824 in Ashtabula, Ohio, and he married Margaret Carruth. They had a son, John Pulaski Cahoon, married to Elizabeth Gordon (my line), and they had a son, George E. Cahoon. Of course, there are many sibblings to these families. Do you see any connection?

Best,

John Park Martinson
Boise, Idaho
