Hello Margot,
I'm looking for anyone who has researched the Cahalane family in County Kerry. My grandmother, Mary Cahalane, born about 1880 in Ballinvounig (about one mile West of Dingle)emigrated to the United States, was married there to Coleman Greene (from Roundstone, Galway) about 1903 in Northampton, Mass. USA.Her homeplace is stone and still standing, but has no roof or windows or doors any more.I wonder how to find out who owns the property now.
I am planning a trip to Dingle this June and would be so happy to meet Cahalane family members there.
I hope you might have some information about Cahalanes from Dingle, as I have very little. My grandmother had a sister who married a Houlihan and lived in Springfield, and another sister,Han, who married Michael Gleason of Northampton. They had a brother- Patrick who settled near Holyoke or Easthampton.I would appreciate any help you could give me.Thank you.Eileen Grabenstein
