Thank you for you information. I do not know the different anglicised names - and didn't know that it came from O'Cathalain. I am very new at this. I have just heard from the church in Skibbereen where my grandfather and his siblings were baptized - the oldest date I now have is 1870 for his brother, and this is still a Cahalane. When was the O'Cathalain an "active" name?
