John CAHALAN (Tipperary)

We are looking for clues about this John CAHALAN, from County Tipperary; we don't know more exactly his place of origin. He and his wife, Mary SPAIN (from Nenagh, died 1910 CT), supposedly married in Ottawa and then settled in Harwinton, Litchfield County, CT by the early 1850s. This spelling of his name is on his naturalization document (1859) and in his will (1878; he died Nov.1). Eventually it became CALLAHAN. Does anyone recognize this CAHALAN as a collateral ancestor?
