My gggrandfather was Joseph Cage, born Brookneal, Campbell Co., Va. (a stone's throw from Nathalie) in 1831. My mother and grandmother's families lived in that area for most of their lives, and oral history has them linked to the DeJarnettes through marriage (I also have the Halifax DeJarnette line on my father's side). Joseph's parents were Fielder Cage and Sarah West. Your info that Joseph was married to a West makes more sense than mine, which shows Joseph married to Amy Burch (given the tendency of cousins to marry). Fielder's parents were Fielder, Sr., and Susannah Jones. I would very much like to be able to verify this West connection. If you have anything further, please let me know.
