Hi there! Forgive me, I don't use English fluently. I'm from Brazil, the origin of surname "Cajé" is a mistery to all members of my family. Some of us were baptized Cajé, and others Cagé. It souds like a Brazilian indianname, but our ancestrals were not indians. There's a big confusion, cause the mother of my grandfather, Domingos, she was, probably, an indian woman, but our surname comes from the father of my grandfather. My grandfather, he's living in another State, has green eyes. I could know his youngest brother, green eyes. There's no Brazilian indians with green eyes. Our first Brazilian ancestral came from Europe? When? Who was him? Why he came to South America? What's about his history? Everiday I think about it. One of the possibilities is that his surname was modified to old Portuguese Language rules in the past. In the region where my grandfather lives, when someone read Cage pronounces Cajé ( opening the sound of "e", like it sounds in "E"llison ). Cage, Kage, Cajé it sounds similar. Do you have any information about a Cage who came to South America before the 20th century? Where is the place of origin or the first use of this surname?
