I too am interested in the very earliest Cages that are kin to Major William Cage of Sumner Co., TN. More than likely they descend from John F. Cage d 1677 Charles Co., MD. His son was Wiliam Cage who married Margaret Wilson 1720 Charles Co., MD. Probably the origin of Wilson Cage, son of Major William. The next generaton probably was William Cage of Prince William Co. VA. but it could have been his brother, Wilson Cage, who died in 1777. This part of Prince William Co., VA. later became Farquier Co., VA and then there was Major William Cage who was born in Farquier Co., VA.

I have a feeling that Richard Pulaski Cage was born in Washington Co., TN. Pulaski was born in March of 1887. Cisco's nformation has it that William Cage went to Sumner Co., TN in 1785, but Cisco did not even know about the State of Franklin. There is strong evidence that William was still in Washington Co., TN in late 1787. William was still involved in the State of Franklin in 1787 and there is a record of him charging whiskey in the fall of 1887 at the Amis Store. Cage was not appointed as sheriff of Sumner Co till 1790. If this is true then Robert Pulaski Cage was born in Washington Co., TN.
