At the present I think that the ancestors of John F. Cage were possibly Edward Cage m Judith Harte, Anthony Cage m Elizabeth Dale, Richard Cage m ?, Cage of Walthham in Suffox. These connections are probable. I have not gone to the English connections for many years. Possibly present day redcords can clear this up.Some of this information is found in the Publications of The Harleian Society for year MDCCCLXX, Visitations of Essex 1634, CAGE page 367. Also Visitations of Surry 1530, 1572 and 1623 page 203. Also Visitations of Cambridge 1575 and 1619 page 35. Visitations of Surrey 1530, 1572, and 1623 page 203. There is a good Cage genealogy found in American Families by the American Historical Society Inc. New York that starts with John Cage who died in Charles Co., MD sfter 1676 down thru Major William Cage of Sumner Co.,TN.
