I traced my line back to William R. CARFREY/CAFFRY (age 59) and wife Rebecca (age 55) who lived in Philadelphia, PA
in 1860. He was born in New Jersey as was Rebecca. Their children at that time were: Elijah 23, Andrew Jackson 20, and Edwin 29. William was a shoemaker.
I have found this surname in the Alexandria Twp of Hunterdon County, NJ and am looking for a connection.
George CARFREY of Alexandria Twp., Hunterdon County, died in 1814 and a William Carfrey was administrator of his estate, but no relationship is mentioned. I found a William CAFFREY in the 1830 Census for Alexandria Twp between the ages of 40-50. Would like to find a connection between the two Williams, is there is one.
