Hi Beth,
I don't know much at all on my MAY family. Only "rumor" is they were also out of Cty May and immigrated (?) to the US, possibly around 1872. I was told the original spelling was either Meigh or Maigh. As many other names, it was spelled as MAY either en route or upon arrival to the states and they kept the spelling the same.
My Mary May's father is listed as Frank May-mother Bridget MULLIGAN. I still have been unable to locate this line...Mary also is said to have married, first, a Martin MAY and had three children by him.
