Cady m. Thomas/Thompson

I'm looking at the name my GGM gave a child the name of William Cady. Cady was not a Baker family name so, maybe it is a clue to her family tree. AnnaEliza "Eliza" was born after the 1850 census in either TN,KY or AL. She arrives in Jackson County, AL and resides in the home of Dr. Mason. It is not know if this was apprenticeship or employee, but, she was age 9. The problem is that in 1860 she is shown with the name Eliza Thompson. In 1870 she is now Eliza Thomas. In October of 1870 she married John Webster Baker as AnnaEliza and they resided in Hollywood, Jackson County, AL. Beside William Cady she named children: Walter Jackson; Alice Virginia; Henry Hasten; Annie Eliza; Callie Harrison; and Mary Elizabeth.

I've searched the Thomas families of Jackson County and have only one clue. One Thomas went to MO and married and had 3 children. His wife died and he and the children returned to jackson County. I can find no records of the names of his daughters.

I'm still trying to pull a needle out of a haystack. Anyone want to join with information or an suggestion? Thanks!
