Unconnected Cady's

Most fortunate CADYS can trace their line to Nicholas whose lines are well documented. Others, like me, have ancestors who seemed to have stoved away on the boat or snuck in over the border. I would sure like to get connected!
My ggggrandfather was HAZEIL CADY (spelled that way in WI land records but HAZEL in NY census)born in CT in 1809. Married LUSELLA (also born in CT) at about age 19 and had their first child, Charles A, in NY in 1828. The next boy, my gggrandfather, Edwin Lewis was born in NY in 1836. The family (with more kids by then) moved to WI in about 1845 and in 1855 Edwin married Elizabeth "Betsy" Cutland from England.
Now HAZEL is an unusal name for a man. Someone must have run into it! Can you help?

Thanks
Jack Cady
