Harold, In the 1835 state census in Starkey, Yates Co. NY there was an Amos Cady listed. The next family was headed by Haziel Cady, my oldest known male ancestor. Both Amos and Haziel disappeared from NY in about 1846-48. Haziel took his family to Wisconsin and shows up in the 1850 federal census. But - I was also told that 'your' Amos and the one that I think might be related to Haziel were not one in the same. There was an Amos Cady who is listed in the 1850 Federal Census in Whiteside IL... presumably he is your ancestor as I am told that he married as you indicated. I seem to remember that the Whiteside, IL Amos said he had been born in CT and had lived in NY... the same as Haziel. I see that you list Charles Cady as Amos' father (?) That might fir for my situation too as Haziel named his first son Charles. Do you have any information about Amo's family that might help me to connect my Cadys with your line?
