What was Windam like in 1790?

There are several Picture books showing Windham, Killingly and other places between 1850 and 1950. Killingly Revisited (in the Images of American Series) by Natalie L Coolidge, as an example.

But, if you are going to New England on research, I'd recommend visiting "Old Sturbridge Village" off Interstate 90 exit 9 or Interstate 84 exit 2. They have moved buildings from
all over New England to recreate a Village circa 1790-1840.
