Silas Cady b. 1765 in Conn., he married Patience Brown b. 1762 in NH. They had 6 children born between 1790 and 1805; John, Sarah, Mary, Guilford, Wm.Oliver and Silas Jr. About 1800 this family moved from NH to NY and about 1820 they settled in Catlin, Chemung Co., NY. Some of John's children moved west. Most of the rest of the Cady's stayed in Chemung Co., NY and surrounding counties.
