I found your Matthew Patrick Cady born 10-16-1786 in Windsor, VT, son of Stephen Cady and his first wife Jane Patrick. This is from "Descendants of Nicholas Cady of Watertown, Mass." by Orrin Peer Allen. Unfortunately, the book has no further information about Matthew.

It does has the following on Matthew's parents:

Stephen5 Cady (Abijah4, William3, Capt. Joseph2, Nicholas1), b. Plainfield CT 9-12-1750; married 4-22-1773 Jane Patrick, b. 1751, d. 2-6-1794. He died 7-31-1829. He went from Connecticut to Cornish, NH, and after 6 years removed to Windsor, VT. Served in the Revolutionary War in 1776.
