I read your note, how interesting. Do you know where your ancestor came from in Scotland or if he may have been in the service of Mary, Queen of Scots or her mother? Most if not all of the Cady descendents here in the US are from Nicholas Cady, however, no one has found his original birthplace to my knowledge. There is the story of Jack Cade in C1450 in Kent. He rebelled against the sheriff and eventually the King. He was hung in the end. The name Cade is in Devon and Kent, but the spelling Cady and Cadie is found in Scotland. The clan affiliation is with Clan Douglas. I am 12th generation from Nicholas, but I also have a French connection. My father's family was Doucette, I am tracking this to Acadia-Nova Scotia during the 1600's. Also I have a GGGGreat Grandfather,Philip Lamoy, that arrived in NY with his young son in 1788 from France. Coincidence or escaping the revolution? Many interesting stories. Let me know if you have anymore. Cheers. Lorraine.
