Thanks everyone, for all the info. The George I'm looking for was probably not G. W. and only MIGHT have been the father of Ezekiel, b 1791. I have no idea who Ezekiel's parents were, or if there were other siblings, or where he ranked in family order. He was said to have been born in CT., grown up in Montgomery Co., NY , then married and settled in Oneida Co. for about 20 years. He then moved his family to Illinois and founded the town of Palatine, very near to where Palmer VR, gson of Elisha, later moved. I think Palmer named his daughter Fannie 1843) for Ezekiel's daughter Fannie(1823). I'm investigating Georges because Ezekiel's second son, b 1820, was named George Nelson. I admit that I'm grasping at straws at this point.
