Cady Family

The Cady Family is quite extensive. The first of my family began in colonial Massachusettes.
Nicholas Cady arrived from in England as apprentice to Captain William Knapp. He then
married Judith Knapp, the Captain's daughter.
They settled in Watertown, MA +\- 1650. They had
eight children: John,1651, Judith,1653, James,1655, Nicholas,1657, died 1658, Daniel,1659,
(my line), Ezekial 1662, Nicholas,1664, and
Joseph, 1666. James Cady married Hannah Barron,
in 1679, Son James born 1 April 1679. Daniel Cady
married Mary Green of Groton, MA. on 7/6/1683.
I have a list of all siblings and marriages directly associated with my line. The Cady's moved from MA. to Connecticut to New Hampshire to
Vermont and some to New York (ie, Elizabeth Cady
Stanton - abolishonist and women's rights activist 1850's to 1902, her father was a lawyer,
Daniel Cady.) This line goes back to Nicholas born in 1664. My family settled first in Granville, Vt then in Waitsfield, Vt and finally my Great-Grandfather Charles settled in Brookfield, Vt. I can't take credit for all this.
I have a great-uncle who worked very hard tracing
all this information. My grandmother passed the
information to me. If anyone has more names, I
can check what I have. But, Nicholas seems to
be the starting point for most. Happy Hunting!
