Sally Towers;

Came across your query of March 12, 2000 re Jonathan Cady of Franklin County, NY. I am also interested in the Cady-Brown connection.

My Great-grandfather is Edson Brown Cady (1840-1909) who emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada in 1862 from the US, probably from Vermont, perhaps Underhill, Vt.. He married Elizabeth Phedora (or Fedora) Streeter (1847-1916). Edson Cady had at least one sister, Mary Cady. Edson and Elizabeth had seven children: Arthur, Herbert W. (Jack), Ida V., Burgess, Charles Henry, Mary E., and Clement E.

Edson Cady's mother may have been a Burgess, and it would seem that there is probably a Brown in the family somewhere, possibly Edson's Mother's or grandmother's maiden name.

As well, I have discovered another note on the genforum that mentions a Silas Cady
b.1765 in Connecticut who married Patience Brown b.1762 in NH. Apparently
they had six children: John, Sarah, Mary, Guilford, Wm. Oliver and Silas
Junior. I am wondering if Silas Sr. and Patience could possibly be the
grandparents of Edson Brown Cady.......?

I have also received the following e-mail from a Mary Comisky that suggests Jonathan Cady was a cousin to various Brown women.

Here is the long story. Rosaline Calista Brown (1818-1847) m. John

I trust all this may be helpful to you. I would appreciate any information or leads you can provide that may be helpful to me.

Sincerely,
