Yes, Judge Daniel Cady was the father of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. He presided over Fulton County Supreme Court (where I work), and did a brief stint at the NY Court of Appeals. I have been researching our courthouse history (built 1772). Cady was cocounsel with Aaron Burr in the defense of Solomon Southwick in October of 1812. He was also cocounsel with Abraham Lincoln in 1856 on a case (see http://www.beloit.edu/~libhome/Archives/PAP/CoHis/lin.html ). I read somewhere that Daniel Cady was born in Canaan, NY (Columbia County).
