You are descended from Moses Cadwell who was born abt. 1796 in North Carolina and died 11 Sept. 1874 in Shelby Co. He married Mary Ann Kesterson 23 Feb. 1819 in Christian Co. KY. She was born abt 1806 in Christian Co. KY and died 27 Aug. 1873 in Shelby Co. MO. They were the parents of ten children.
Moses' son, Noah Hampton Cadwell, was born 18 Mar. 1824 and died 25 Sept. 1897 in Shelby Co. He married (1) Mariah Morrison 3 Sept. 1848 in Pike Co. IL. She was born 23 Apr 1831 in Pike Co. and died abt. 1855. He married (2) Sarah Hinton abt. 1857. She was born 25 Oct. 1835 and died 22 Mar. 1907. Noah and Mariah had three children. He and Sarah had 12 children.
The Cadwell family moved from Kentucky to Pike Co. IL and from there to Shelby Co.
Noah and Sarah's son, Jesse Cadwell, was born 17 May 1873 and died 4 Sept. 1945. He married Mary Jane Fitzpatrick 3 May 1896 in Shelby Co. They were the parents of 3 children: Alpha, Charles Clifford, and Noah Glenn.
Noah Glenn Cadwell was born 15 Jan. 1912 and died in 1968. He married Jewell Canaday 25 Mar. 1933 in Shelby Co.
Moses and Mary Ann are buried on the old Cadwell family farm near the extinct town of Walkersville. Noah Hampton and Sarah are buried in Bacon Chapel Cemetery. Jesse and several other Cadwell family members are buried in Shelbina Cemetery.
