I have portraits of Daniel Peabody Cadwell and his wife (Mary?). Their daughter Mary Elizabeth married Jerome Bonapart Tyler, Aug 5 1851, of Holland Patent, NY, and they had three children, the second of which Charles Cadwell Tyler was my grandfather.
A note in the Tyler Geneology (Descendants of Job Tyler, Andover, Mass)indicates that Dan. P Cadwell was descended from Thomas Cadwell who was in Hartford CT in 1652.
We have some correspondence from Daniel P Cadwell which indicates he lived in Utica or Rome New York and was president of the Utica & Black River Railroad. I think we have some information which indicates he died in Utica in 1863.
The portraits and their frames have just been refurbished, and we're getting ready to hang them in our house. I would like to put some geneological notes on the back of the portraits.
Does anybody know anything about a Daniel P Cadwell in Utica NY in the mid-19th century?
