Hartford July 3, 1794 We the subscribers being appointed by the cort of probate to set out one third part of the rale estate of Aron Cadwell late of hart ford deceast to his widdo Rachel Cadwel now wife of mr Ebenezer Willyamson we being under oath 1 we began and measured at the east end from mr. Goodwins corner two rods and fore feet to a stake and ston runin thew the well to the west end and measured from Goodwins southwest corner north twelve feet to a stake at the south corner room and a third part of seller and a third part of the well set out to her thirds of said homsted 2 then we went into the south medo and began next mr. John Leyan? and measured sixty one rods to cornol John Whitins land and measured three rods and half at each end to stakes set up 3 then we went into the north medo to the triangul peace and measured fore rods and an half to a stake by the crick then we began at the north east corner and measured for rods and half to a stake 4 then we went to a smal lot a littel north on the west side of rod and laid out one rod wide on the north sid of said lot butin north on the heirs of John Andrus and south on the same lot 5 then went on est sid said rode and measured a rod and twelve feet at each end to stakes next to the same lot 6 .... to a lot at moses Cadwels and began at the souwest corner next thomas bur and measured eight rods east from stake then we began at the north west corner next Jes Olcot and measured eight rods to a stake by a warnut stump nextsaid lot then went to the ox paster lot end and began at hezekiah Merelses fence at the west end and measured ten rods to a stake by an othr stake peled with a small bit of medo at the west end of said merelles lot then we went to the east end and began at northeast corner measur'd 5 rods to a stake next to said lot also we agre that each party shall have liberty to pas and repas to the west end of said lot or lots as acasion shall require this done and ... by us the subscribers James Steel & John Skinner at a court of probate held at Hartford July the 8th A.D. 1754 then this distribution was anexed by this court... Persuant to an order from the Hounrable Court of Probate We the Subscribers Proceded to make a distribution of the Real Estate of Aron Cadwell dec'd to have set out to s'd Cadwells Heirs their several Preportion as follows. Cadwell His part in the home Lot on the North side being 57 Rod of ground to extend the whole Length of the Lot from the Highway to the east end of s'd Lot & south so far as to make the 57 Rod above mentioned together with the old house standing on s'd Lot & the use of half the well Set to Jona'th Cadwell His lpart being the south part of the home Lot th't is 51 rods of ground and the half the well also one acre & 21 rods of ground att the south End of the South meadow Lot. Set to James Cadwell His Part Seven acres two Rods & 27 rods of ground **** the of pasture Lot one the South [illegible] next Jonath Butlers Lot Also one acre & 19 Rods att the north end of the South meadow Lot Set to Moses Cadwell His part in the north meadow the triangular Lot Also the Lot Lying a Little North of the meadow being all the Land in the North meadow. Set to the Heirs of Hannah Chappell their part the west Half of the Lot Moses Cadwell now lives on being five acres & half also one acre & three quarters In the South meadows Lot being the middle part of s'd lot. Also one other piee land, being a part of the Keys and Wills farm, situate in the town of Hartford, laying about a mile south of the aforesaid Fish farm, commencing at the center of the Pond, (so called) for the west line of s'd piece running easterly with the north line of said farm about twenty rods to a stake and stones, thence south to the south line of said farm, a pile of stones being placed about a poplar tree, towards the south side of said farm, thence westly to the center of the pond being about twenty rods, thence north to the north line of said farm to the center of the pond the place of the beginning, bounded west and east on land belonging to the heirs of Aaron Cadwell dec'd, north on Alden Cadwells land, and south on Asa Goodmans land, and containing about 9 acres with privilege of passing to and from the same through the afores'd Keyes and Wills farm. Also one piece of land in s'd meadow (in the place called the great pasture) containing about two acres butted upon the highway Est Land of Mr. Nath'l Stanly South upon lands of the heris of Thomas Bunce ____ and also one piece in the long meadow in s'd Hartford containing about one acre butted upon the great River Easterly lands sometime since Improved by Thomas Olcott dec'd North and NW Nathan'l Hanly South and Cap't Joseph Wadsworth West all which parcells of land I give to my s'd son Edward and to his heirs and assigns forever. Also fifteen acres upland more or less lying in a great parcel half whereof I have given him in deed butts on Deac Eatton heirs East on ---- West etc --------- All the rest of my lands whatsoever and wheresoever situate I give grant and bequeath unto my two sons the said Edward Cadwell and my son William Cadwell to be equally divided between them with respect to both quantity and quality to be to them their heirs and assigns forever respectively in the proportion aforesaid without any regard in what I have already by deed of Gift made over to them or either of them. Item I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Elizabeth and Rachell to each of them the sum of fifty pounds Reckoned as mony to be paid by my said sons in currant mony with what I have already or hereafter in my life time shall pay toward the said fifty pounds each or to be paid out of my moveable or personal estate after my said wife hath had her thirds at the Inventory s'd price there of (which they please) my said sons to pay the remainder of the said fifty pounds if any want there be. And if there shall happen a surplusage of moveable or personal Estate of mine viz more than enough to pay the said fifty pounds each to my said daughters, my will is that what remains there of shall be equally divided between my said two daughters. My Will further is that if either my son Edward or William shall happen to dye without issue male of his body lawfully begotten that then the land hereby given to that my said son so dying shall go and discend to my surviving son, my son so surviving paying one fourth part of the value thereof to the daughters of my son so dying if any be, or if there by none to her, and two fourth part of said value to my two daughters aforesaid to be equally divided between them. And further my Will is that after my decease John Cadwell who now dwells with and is bound to me, if I happen to dye before his time is out, shall go to my son William according to the Indentures and that my s'd son William shall pay the twenty pounds due by the said Indentures to the said John when his time is out. My Will also further is that if the said Diego happen to live, so that by force of this my Will, he come to serve my said son William, my said son William shall in consideration thereof pay to each of my two daughters or their heirs the sum of five pounds currant money. Lastly I appoint my said two sons Executors of this my last Will and Testament. Item the s'd William shall have the eastern part of that Lott in the s'd long meadow called the upper lott Beginning at the Great River & extending west untill it include all th't hath been plowed in the s'd Lott and the Residue of the s'd Lott shall be to the s'd Edward with all the Lott of upland adjoining next westward upon it. Item the s'd Edward shall have the whole of one Lott to them belonging at a place called the West Division & the s'd Edlward his heirs &c shall for ever maintain the whole of the common fence belonging to the upper most neck Lott. Item the Lower Lott in the Long meadow Edward shall have the Southern half thereof & William the northern halfe thereof. Lastly one Lane --- Meadow called the fourty acres the s'd Edward shall have that which Lyeth at the head of the Long Land & is parted therefrom by a path, then Edward shall Begin at the east side & his part shall extend westward untill it include one halfe of the Lott with what he first hath Taken at the head of the Long Land before mentioned & the residue of the s'd Lott the s'd William shall have for his part.
