Yes! my father's mother's name was Mary Ellen Waldron...She died of pneumonia when my father was 7. In fact,my father's middle name is Waldron....Walter Waldron Cadogan!The oldest of her sons was John Benedict Cadogan...he's still alive and living on his own...my father, Walter, died in 1999 at the age of 83, and his younger brother, Bill, is also living and on his own.
I always heard that Mary Ellen Waldron Cadogan was born in County Mayo, so i'm not sure about being born in Skibbereen, but Cornelius Cadogan was born in Skibbereen or i guess, as you say, in Poulnacallee. I have heard bits and pieces of having relatives with the name O'Mahony, but was never sure how it fit in. I remember those spoons - there were many of them at one time, but I'm not sure what has happened to them over the years. My parents had some also.
Thank you so much for responding! There is a Janet Cadogan who lives in Long Island, that I was put in contact with from a Cadogan who is a travel agent in Ireland that a friend of mine met when she visited last year.
